Choose a display location without assuming that fabric clothing is weatherproof.
Start with the conditions
A decorated porch goose can sit in an indoor entryway or sheltered seasonal display. Choose a location by considering exposure, stability and space around the statue. An outdoor-looking product photo does not establish that the clothing is waterproof.
A sheltered porch arrangement
A covered setting may give more control over exposure than an open lawn, but conditions vary. Check the particular item instructions and bring decorative outfits indoors during severe weather. Do not rely on general claims that every costume withstands all winter conditions.
An indoor entryway
An entryway lets you coordinate the goose with a wreath, ribbon or seasonal ornament. Keep the walking route clear and position the statue securely. Choose a layout that lets the costume remain visible without crowding the entrance.
Care and placement are separate questions
Machine-washable fabric does not mean continuous rain exposure is suitable. Likewise, a recycled polyester statement does not provide a waterproof rating. Ask the store about any specific use requirement that is not covered in the item description.
Select the costume after the location
Once you know where the goose will stand, compare outfit silhouettes and accessories. A large hat or layered skirt may need more surrounding room than you expect. Check intended statue fit and remember that outfit-only listings do not include the goose statue.
Browse the Christmas and winter collection and check the statue fit guide before ordering.
