How to Dress a Porch Goose: A Year-Round Outfit Calendar

Dressing a porch goose is one of the easiest ways to change up your front porch. Here is how to do it, how to keep outfits looking good, and what to put on your goose each month.

How to put an outfit on your goose

  1. Check the size: SkeleGoose outfits fit standard 23-inch (58 cm) plastic and cement geese.
  2. Put on the body piece: slip the outfit over the goose's head and let it drape over the body.
  3. Fasten it: most designs use hook-and-loop closures. Press them closed so the outfit sits snugly.
  4. Add the accessories: set the hat on the head, and attach any bow ties, belts, or props.
  5. Adjust: straighten the collar and skirt so the outfit looks neat from the street.

Keeping outfits in good shape

  • Bring it in during bad weather: outfits are made for porch and yard display, but heavy rain, snow, or strong wind will wear them out faster.
  • Hand wash gently: we recommend hand washing and air drying, and skipping the dryer.
  • Store flat and dry: fold outfits and keep them in a bag or bin with the season's name on it, so next year's switch is quick.
